Most car dealers love to push finance. And it’s easy to see why, they get commission, upsell packages. But that doesn’t always mean it’s the best deal for you.

At Twin Pine Autos, we don’t offer finance, just yet, and we’re happy to explain why that might actually work in your favour, especially if you’re a first-time buyer, or shopping smart.

Pros of

Not

Taking Finance from a Dealer or Broker:

You stay in control

Dealer finance often locks you into long-term agreements with limited flexibility. Going private — whether through your bank, a credit union, or savings, means you decide the terms, not the showroom.

You can often get better rates elsewhere

Main street lenders, your own bank, or even an interest-free family loan can work out cheaper than dealer-arranged finance. Shop around and you might save hundreds (or thousands) over the loan period. You’re also not locked in to ‘that’ car either!

You’re not forced into overpriced ‘add-ons’

Dealer finance packages are often bundled with gap insurance, service plans, or paint protection. Buying with cash or your own finance lets you skip the upsell and choose only what you need.

More negotiating power and Transparency

Paying outright or coming with pre-arranged finance gives you leverage. Dealers often hide discounts behind their finance margins. Take that away, and you can negotiate on real car value — not inflated finance figures.

So what are your options?

While we don’t offer in-house finance yet, we’re happy to point you toward:

  • Independent finance brokers who work for you, not the dealer

  • Bank loan options tailored to classic or modern classic cars

  • Budgeting advice for saving towards the right car

Final Word

We’re not here to sell you finance. We’re here to help you make a smart, long-term decision — whether that means buying in full, financing privately, or saving up for your dream car the right way.

Because you’re not tied into dealer finance, you’ve got options down the line too. Want to upgrade? Change direction? We’ve even bought cars back from past customers — so if things change, why not talk to us about selling it back?
